Pregnancy Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.
The massage is done in a side-lying position with a pillow for the client's head and a body pillow to support the client's limbs and help maintain spinal alignment. Postnatal can be done in a prone & supine position (face-down & face-up) if the client is comfortable and/or has been cleared by their doctor, especially in the case of post c-section, but can also certainly be done in a side-lying position if that is more comfy.
Add CBD oil and balm to any massage for $20. Simply put, a CBD massage is a traditional massage performed with CBD-infused oils and creams. Adding CBD to your massage can help calm inflammation, soothe anxiety, reduce chronic pain and melt tension. Cannabidiol, or CBD, is non-psychoactive and is found in high concentrations in cannabis and hemp.
Cupping therapy is a therapeutic technique that utilizes a vacuum force created beneath a small vessel applied onto the skin's surface. This approach focuses on blood and autologous healing substances in a specific area, stimulating metabolic activity, improving immune function, and stabilizing blood biochemistry. It is great for detoxifying the blood, reduces pain and inflammation, decreases muscle tightness, improves blood flow, and increases range of motion. When combining cupping with massage, you are able to reach optimal results and benefits within your session!
As a mom of 2, I know how incredibly challenging it can be to arrange childcare and find the time to prioritize myself. Bring your (well-behaved) child to your massage session and they can sit with us in the treatment room with an activity while you enjoy your "me time". If accommodations are needed for sudden potty/feeding situations, we can pause or end the massage. Please see the description for the regular 60 minute massage.
Each session is tailored to each client and may incorporate techniques from both Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage, among other modalities, depending on what is needed in each individual session.
To give you an idea of the two most common styles of bodywork that I use:
Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that some soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.
